About Dina
Hi, I’m Dina!
I am a proud graduate of James Madison University (go Dukes!) where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics/Nutrition. I went on to complete a distance dietetic internship/graduate certificate program from Illinois State University with a concentration in leadership. After completing my internship and earning my credential as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, my career as a dietitian began with working at a psychiatric hospital during peak of the COVID-19 pandemic where I witnessed firsthand the impact the pandemic, weight-bias and diet culture had on mental health and rising eating disorder cases. My work experience in various levels of care (inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient) and continued education has continued to strengthen my advocacy for the Health At Every Size® framework, Intuitive Eating principles, and taking an All Foods Fit approach to nutrition.
Areas of expertise include:
addressing the psychological impact of weight stigma while promoting overall well-being
challenging diet culture beliefs and food rules
promoting Intuitive Eating
eating disorder treatment including ARFID, anorexia, binge-eating disorder, bulimia, and other specified feeding or eating disorders
embracing and respecting diverse body shapes and sizes
mindful eating practices
My Approach & Philosophy:
I believe the relationship we have with food and our bodies is an intimate relationship, and acknowledging this I always aim to create a safe space for clients that is both judgement free and compassionate. I believe food freedom is something everyone is deserving and capable of achieving/maintaining, and would love to be part of your team to help you achieve this.
